intercession

: Every generation gathered around the Abba drum, singing praises to Jesus the risen Christ. “Every tribe, tongue and nation”.

On February 7, we started “30 Days of Worship & Prayer” at P.o.W. On March 7, we decided to extend to 60 Days, through April 7. We’ve had worship & prayer leaders from around our county, come & participate. We’ve had artists, as well as dance teams, lead out. This has been a humbling experience, as we watch many come to participate, including those from many nations (Chinese, Mexican, African, First Nations, European). We’ve also been collecting non-perishables, and it’s so much fun to see what people bring! One of the highlights, so far, has been having First Nations (Native American tribes) worship & prayer leaders, participate with us in culturally relevant ways of worshiping the Lord & praying. Topics for prayer, have included Israel and the elections, Mexico & border town issues, the U.S.A, & unity in the Body of Christ, & the situation between Ukraine & Russia. We’ve prayed extensively for the situation in the Mideast, with ISIS, and have prayed for missionaries all around the world. It is a real privilege & honor to partner with the Lord, through worship & intercession. Please keep us in YOUR prayers, as we consider the next steps.

We recently had a wonderful visit to one of the elderly and infirmary homes. We’ve also had two new volunteers helping VOB. Wayne has become quite fond of these young men & is very grateful for their help. It is such a blessing to facilitate someone’s gift in compassion, toward those who are in need of such a gift. In the photo to the left, Gabriel, Randy, & Wayne are praying for a man with some eye problems. Below, this dear lady was so very upset because her friend & bed mate Rosa, was in great pain. While Vicente prayed for her friend, I was glad to cheer the lady up a bit, with some flowers that had been donated earlier that morning. The real miracle, was the lifting of everyone’s spirit, when The Lord came and comforted Rosa. She was a completely different person when we left. Look at that smile! What do you think?

These are just a few snippets of our day to day life. Every day brings a new appreciation for the work of the Lord & the lives He brings across our paths! Thank you!

Even though it’s late January, can we still say, “Happy New Year?”

Getting back into the swing of things here in San Diego and Mexico, after a nice vacation during Christmas, has been both hectic & rewarding! But, we wanted to take a moment & say THANK YOU, for all that you have done to stand with VOB, in 2013!! VOB grew in quite a few places, in this last year, including adding more trucks to the ‘fleet,’ more food to the loads, and more mouths to feed in Tijuana. In addition, more worship & prayer opportunities came our way, more connections and more ‘space’, as we were able to find a larger venue, for our monthly P.lace o.f W.orship (P.o.W.) gatherings.

We could really use your prayer & support in 2014, as we seek to go further with P.o.W, and get more worship teams and intercessors involved to further the purposes of the Lord in the nations, through worship & prayer. VOB ‘worship’, has a heart to see artists, musicians, intercessors, dancers, and others, raised up in the area of worship & prayer, as we stand in the gap for our own nation, other countries & ministries around the world. We also continue to really need physical help on the ‘compassion’ side of VOB. We have had a few volunteers step up to the plate this year, which has been wonderful. But we really need more. As the physical needs grow in Tijuana, and the Lord provides more food, we could use your prayers, and yes, even your physical PERSON, to come alongside & help with pick-ups, sorting & packing. We have lots of help on the ‘south’ side of the border, and we would really like to see our helpers on the ‘north’ side of the border increase! Please continue to pray for us, and, especially, for Wayne, as those physical problems we have mentioned before, continue. We both DO feel better, thankfully, but Wayne needs a great deal more strength & stamina, to get the job done. He has been working with a holistic doctor, but this is a bit of a strain, financially. We know the grace of the Lord is with us. Please keep praying!

Lastly, if you have not considered supporting Voice of the Bride on a monthly basis, we would like to ask you to please pray about that possibility. Our giving was down in 2013, but the Lord totally provided. We would like to boost that giving a bit, so if you would consider a monthly gift, or even a semi-regular gift, any amount would be a blessing to the work, both here in San Diego, and in Mexico.

In the coming year, we hope to add some overseas trips into our schedule, as well as raise up an army of worshipers & those who see the need for serving the poor. It is our privilege and honor, to be able to do this. And we thank you so, so much for how you have contributed to Voice of the Bride!! We seriously could not do this, if not for you.
