We took the compassion arm of VOB on the road again last month…4 hours south of the border, 420 mile round trip in one day. I believe we told you of the great needs in the San Quintin area. And how more so than usual, with the present pandemic.
Our amazing team (mostly teens) put together food packs from all the food we had delivered in recent weeks. Wayne took a load down, spent the night after they loaded the caravan of vehicles with supplies, and started off for the drive early the next morning. Our flatbed truck was as full as it could ever be. It is always so amazing to see it go from full to empty so quickly. But thank God (and you for your prayers and support) for His provision. The truck always gets filled again!
San Quintin is a fishing town. One of the fishermen who helped host the outreaches, also hosted us in his home for some fresh-out-of-the-sea, clam ceviche. It was amazing. And very kind of his struggling family, to feed our entire team!
The crowds of people that assembled around our truck for a small bag of resources, was humbling at best. It was so very hot that day, but folks were so patient, humble, and grateful. Truly a vision of “count our blessings” rang in my heart, and still, is in my mind each day.
We hope these snap shots give you the idea, and perhaps even the full experience.
