VOB News January 2017 “Moments from 2016”

15073429_10210865528579390_1352006200006507208_n2016 brought some exciting moments of “worship & compassion” . Read through and see if you can keep up.
Worship on the Muckleshoot reservation in WA, for a conference. Three days; 7 worship sessions; lives healed, hearts lifted up, and people learned how to worship in culturally relevant ways.

Being part of a heavy hitter intercessory group, in Washington DC for the Alltribes DC gathering.  First Nations standing in agreement to forgive broken treaties & horrific treatment the U.S. Government perpetuated over 200+ years. What an historic gathering….not to mention just being in DC right before the election…yep, that was electric!!

Tahlequah, OK, ANNA Call.  12 straight hours of worship and prayer, with several hundred others, gathered at the central ending point of our national tragedy known as the “Trail of Tears”, was both solemn, and joyful. WOW, this was a big one!!

Youth worshipping at Soboba

Soboba reservation: Arise Youth conference: Watching loads of Native America youth worship the Lord with true passion and abandonment, was sooo inspiring! Even better, all ages gathered together, honoring and respecting each other and sharing together in the Lord – – -priceless!

Spending hours on the phone this year, talking, texting, praying with new First Nations friends, as we heard each others stories and heart’s cry, and praying together…this is where the rubber hits the road in ministry!

Leading worship & prayer at 3 different reservations, all in one month.  New friends, new faces, new places, loads of worship, tons of prayer. Lots of miles & lots of food!!

Thomas….this was a toughie (see August update). Watching Thomas struggle for so very long, before he went home to be with the Lord, well, that wasn’t easy.  But being there for his sister & his son, and officiating at Thomas’ memorial, that was a blessing.

Being able to continue to support one of our adopted families in TJ, who lost their husband and father, as well as supporting the daughter of one of our partner families to continue in school is an honor. We love helping families with basic needs14666300_10154594371273890_7917644160487148333_n

Assisting our Tijuana Partner as he sheltered a hundred-plus refugees from Haiti and Africa. Such an honor and so very humbling to witness my friend use his limited resources, in his own struggling nation, to care for those who have fled from great poverty and dire straights. Unity of the brethren! These guys also came alongside us and served the poor in Tijuana while they waited for their own appointments with US immigration.

Sharing the story & heart of VOB on a major North American radio station Nueva Vida, was quite the day! What a joy to share with literally MILLIONS of listeners, the heart behind VOB.

Getting that much needed breakthru in crossing the border!!!! Lots of blood, sweat and prayers on this one!! Meeting the 2nd in command and the Lord giving great favor with her…An ordeal turned into a blessing. THANK YOU JESUS!!

Gabriel….maybe we don’t need to say more, but having Gabriel around every day, to serve, lead, hang with & see grow into a mighty man of GOD…well, this highlight will be with us forever.  Wayne has become quite fond of Gabriel and thanks God, for his coming along, every day.
