Happy New Year

Dearest friends, we would like to ask you to consider partnering with Voice of the Bride, for 2026. 

What are we asking you to partner in? Come January, we are a 30 year old mission organization, which was founded on the principles of;

1. Serving the poor and needy, here in our nation, as well as around the world. 

2. Serving the Lord in worship and intercession, seeing the atmosphere changed for His glory and Kingdom, and partnering with GOD in whatever is on His heart for our nation, and for the world. 

3. Serving whoever the Lord puts right in front of us, be it thru counseling, mentoring, teaching, encouragement, or sharing the Gospel!

So do any (or ALL), of those things light the fire in your heart?  We can’t all go, but we can ALL serve the Lord, as we partner together  to help push the Gospel, and His Kingdom forward!!!  

In the last few years, we have helped walk my dad into Heaven, helped care for several friends and family members, including both our moms, and felt the Lord lead us to move to North Carolina in 2024. For the first time in our married life, (33 years on Jan 3), we have found a home we can finally call our own. ‘Trinity Acres’ has become solid ground from which we can ‘jump off’ and come and go, without being at the whim of landlords, and the rising cost of living in Southern California.  We can be more effective with the Mexico support. We can sow into Carol’s worship well more effectively, with her background as both a Moravian and a Quaker, both powerhouse historical believers, who settled in this area of NC. We can more easily travel, and better afford overseas travel. 

As a supporter, you will be partnering with us to continue supporting established work in Tijuana, Mexico to the poor and needy, and helping break the cycle of poverty thru providing for education and scholarships for young people.You will be assisting in bringing the message of hope in the Lord, thru relational healing  and counseling, online, nationally and internationally (India again in February), thru Wayne’s ongoing counseling ministry (this is a big deal, folks). You will be helping Carol pull the plow of dynamic and prophetic worship, and deep intercession for Native America, the many US states of our country, Israel, and nations around the world, thru onsite worship wherever GOD opens the door, as well as online, to a global audience. And the simple love and care in sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ and the hope we find in Him, to whoever comes across our path, every single day. 

We are connecting to you and asking, because we have seen a nearly 30% drop in our budget in the last 18 months!! Would you consider partnering with VOB, so that we might be able to continue serving the Lord full time, as He called us to do, soon after we got married.  We have given our lives to this work, and we honestly cannot do it without your prayer, and yes, your finances. Here is what we are asking:

1. Would you consider monthly giving next year. ANY amount will help (and is tax deductible).

2. Would you consider a one time gift, to help us get our budget back on track. 

3. If you are a monthly partner are you able to increase your gift, if by just a little bit, it is appreciated.

We know you receive appeals for funding all the time. We certainly do as well.  But since you are a part of our lives, and we are relationally connected, we hope, knowing us as you do, you will truly think of supporting Voice of the Bride, as part of your own ministry and calling in the Lord.

Upcoming  🙏 Ministry trips:

Wayne will be joining the Living Waters training team twice next month. He will driving up to Quarryville, PA February 7-13.  And then again traveling to Goa India February 27 – March 14   Please be praying for finances, travel mercies, and safety for Wayne as he travels. And also for all to go well at home in Wayne’s absence with all of our family.

VOB News June 2018 “South Dakota bound”

We need your prayers!!!  Recently, VOB was invited to bring a worship team to Pine Ridge reservation, in South Dakota, to lead worship and prayer at a series of camp meetings. As we accepted the invitation, the organizers decided they also wanted to add different sessions of outdoor worship on the land, as well as a downtown outreach for the residents of Pine Ridge! I had literally been praying for such an opportunity, right before I received the invitation!

I’d like to share a couple of thoughts regarding Pine Ridge: If you’ve ever heard the phrase, “Bury my heart at Wounded Knee”, the infamous ‘Wounded Knee’ massacre, occurred here in 1890, essentially ending the major wars between the US government, and the Native American people. The land was taken from the Lakota (as in so many other instances), and the people were shuttled onto reservations, which they were rarely allowed to leave, causing starvation and dependence on the government for provision (something they had never needed). Pine Ridge is home to the Oglala Lakota people, of the Great Plains, and is the 7th largest reservation in the country, with a population between 18,000 and 19,000 people.  Many people consider Pine Ridge to be ground zero for the issues facing Native America. The poverty rate is extremely high on Pine Ridge, with an estimate of 85% of the people being unemployed. The school drop out rate is 70%, and there is only an estimated 28% of people having attained a high school or GED diploma. The Oglala tribe, says that infant mortality among the people is 300% higher than the US average, and the teen suicide rate on the reservation is 150% higher than the US rate.  I was stunned to find that the life expectancy for men on the reservation is 47 years old, and for women, 55.  Two of the 5 poorest counties in the USA, are located on Pine Ridge Reservation.

Yet, there is more going on at Pine Ridge, than just ‘statistics’.  Among the people, are followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, men and women, who desperately want to see salvation and healing come to their people.  They want to see the calling of GOD restored to the Lakota, and to see healing come to communities, physically, spiritually and emotionally. Many have gone to lend a hand on the reservation. Believers have been standing strong for decades, and inroads to salvation are coming. 

We feel deeply privileged and honored to be able to partner with our brothers and sisters in the Lord on Pine Ridge, to come together and worship GOD, praying and interceding ‘onsight’, that the land and Lakota nation might be changed for the glory of the Lord. We can’t wait to go!!! Please join us in prayer, as we prepare for the journey, July 11-15. Your prayer support for our families, and the trip, will be greatly needed.  We will need to make a long drive from the Denver airport, to the reservation. As well, we are in need of raising support to send the team, with airfare, hotel and car rental expenses.  So if you’d be interested in giving towards the trip, you can give on our donate tab . 

As you know, our VOB mandate, is to serve those in need ‘among the nations’ with worship, and compassion.  Would you support us, as we go to South Dakota?
